“IT’S THE PUCK OFF!”
LOL! The Walston boys took me to a hockey game tonight! Cool! This was only my second time to attend a game (George took me to see the Hawks up in Chicago a while back)…but…I now know that I absolutely love this game! Okay, well, actually, I really do like the game…but…the fun, the crowd, the ridiculously silly entertainments, the mascot, the whole package is just a hoot!
As we were in line at the concession stand, Adri, my 10-year old grandson (who is his Uncle George reborn!), turns around to me and yells…”Oh man! They’ve already done the puck off!” As soon as he says it, he gets this look on his face that lets you know he completely caught himself off guard and we all burst out laughing.
Well, what’s a person to do? The kid knows he’s made a play on words and he knows you know it…you just have to go with the flow! So, I just can’t describe how funny a moment it was. I don’t know what was funnier, the actual play on words mishap, or that split second of watching the color drain from his face and just as quickly watch the color flush up his neck and over that same face as he burst into laughter!
I just love my kids (the big ones and the little ones). They are funny, loving, challenging…but, oh, so everything that’s good in life all wrapped up in funny little personalities…blessings sent from above to help me keep my head above water!
And…the really funny and wonderful part…the play on words…was…you know…”the puck off” versus “the kick off”!
Thank you Walston guys…the best date I’ve had in a very long time!
Thanks for sharing them Sissy…I lub you!
